सम्युक्तनिकायः १.२२ — स्पृशतिसूक्तम्
saṃyuktanikāyaḥ 1.22 — sparśasūktam
Saṃyukta Nikāya 1.22 — Injury 1)


“नास्पृशन्तं स्पृशति च स्पृशन्तं च ततः स्पृशेत्।
तस्मात्स्पृशन्तं स्पृशत्यप्रदुष्टप्रदोषिणमिति॥”

“na aspṛśantaṃ spṛśati ca spṛśantaṃ ca tataḥ spṛśet.
tasmāt spṛśantaṃ spṛśati apraduṣṭapradoṣiṇam iti.”

[A deity:] “It does not injure one who doesn't injure, but it then injures one who does injure.
Therefore, it injures the one who injures, the one who harms the harmless.”

“योऽप्रदुष्टस्य नरस्य दुष्यति शुद्धस्य पोषस्यानङ्गणस्य।
तमेव बालं प्रत्येति पापं सूक्ष्मं रजः प्रतिवातमिव क्षिप्तमिति॥”

“yo ’praduṣṭasya narasya duṣyati śuddhasya poṣasya anaṅgaṇasya.
tam eva bālaṃ pratyeti pāpaṃ sūkṣmaṃ rajaḥ prativātam iva kṣiptam iti.”

[The Bhagavān:] “Whoever harms a man who is harmless, a pure person, free from blemish;
that evil returns to the immature one himself, like fine dust thrown against the wind.”
