samyuktanikāyaḥ 1.81 — araṇasūktam
Saṃyutta Nikāya 1.81 — Peaceful
“के स्विदिहाराणा लोके, केषामुषितं न नश्यति।
के हेच्छां परिजानन्ति, केषामभौजिष्यं सदा।
कंस्विन्माता पिता भ्राता, वन्दन्ते तं प्रतिष्ठितम्।
कंस्विदिह जातिहीनम्, अभिवादयन्ति क्षत्रियाः?” इति।
“ke svid ihāraṇā loke, keṣām uṣitaṃ na naśyati.
ke hecchāṃ parijānanti, keṣām abhaujiṣyaṃ sadā.
kaṃsvin mātā pitā bhrātā, vandante taṃ pratiṣṭhitam.
kaṃsvid iha jātihīnam, abhivādayanti kṣatriyāḥ?” iti.
“Who in this world are not in conflict? Whose dwelling does not perish?
Who fully understand desire? Who are never in servitude?
Whom do mother, father, and brother venerate, him who is well-established?
Whom here, though of low birth, do the warriors salute?”
“श्रमणा इहाराणा लोके, श्रमणानामुषितं न नश्यति।
श्रमणा इच्छां परिजानन्ति, श्रमणानामभौजिष्यं सदा।
श्रमणं माता पिता भ्राता, वन्दन्ते तं प्रतिष्ठितम्।
श्रमणमिह जातिहीनम्, अभिवादयन्ति क्षत्रियाः॥” इति।
