saṃyuktanikāyaḥ 1.39 — prathamaparjanyaduhitṛsūktam
Saṃyukta Nikāya 1.39 — Parjanya's Daughter (1)

evaṃ mayā śrutam — ekasmin samaye bhagavān vaiśālyāṃ viharati sma mahāvane kūṭāgāraśālāyām. atha khalu kokanadā parjanyasya duhitā atikrāntāyāṃ rātryām atikrāntavarṇā kevalakalpaṃ mahāvanam avabhāsya bhagavantam upasañcakrāma; upasaṅkramya bhagavantam abhivādya ekānte ’tiṣṭhat. ekānte sthitā khalu sā devatā kokanadā parjanyasya duhitā bhagavato ’ntike imā gāthā abhāṣata —
Thus have I heard. At one time the Bhagavān was dwelling in Vaiśālī, in the Great Forest, at the Hall with the Peaked Roof. Then Kokanadā, the daughter of Parjanya, when the night was advanced, of surpassing beauty, illuminating the whole of the Great Forest, approached the Bhagavān. Having approached and paid homage to the Bhagavān, she stood to one side. Standing to one side, that deity, Kokanadā, daughter of Parjanya, recited these verses in the presence of the Bhagavān:

“vaiśālyāṃ vane viharantam agraṃ sattvasya sambuddham.
kokanadāham asmy abhivande kokanadā parjanyasya duhitā.
śrutam eva purāsīd dharmaś cakṣuṣmatānubuddhaḥ.
sāham idānīṃ sākṣi jānāmi muner deśayataḥ sugatasya.
ye kecid āryaṃ dharmaṃ vigarhantaś caranti durmedhasaḥ.
upayānti rauravaṃ ghoraṃ cirarātraṃ duḥkham anubhavanti.
ye ca khalv ārye dharme kṣāntyā upaśamenopetāḥ.
prahāya mānuṣaṃ dehaṃ devakāyaṃ paripūrayiṣyanti” iti.

“Dwelling in the forest at Vaiśālī, the foremost of beings, the Fully Enlightened One,
I, Kokanadā, daughter of Parjanya, pay homage.
Formerly, I had only heard of the Dharma awakened to by the One with Vision.
Now I know it as a witness, as the Sage, the Sugata, teaches it.
Those of little wisdom who wander about disparaging the noble Dharma,
they go to the dreadful Raurava hell and experience suffering for a very long time.
But those who are endowed with patience and tranquility in the noble Dharma,
having abandoned the human body, will fill the ranks of the gods.”
